Project-based learning

An essential element of the modern educational system, project-based learning has been implemented at the “Little Prince” Educational Complex since 2020.

Project-based learning is an instructional method through which educational objectives are achieved by thoroughly exploring and solving real-world problems, culminating in a tangible, practical outcome. In the process of working on a project, learners are actively engaged in cognitive activities: they select the area of inquiry, independently formulate the problem, gather relevant information, plan possible solutions, draw conclusions, analyze their own progress, and ultimately acquire new knowledge and life skills. This approach also fosters teamwork, responsibility, and accountability for the quality of the final product.

The project-based learning model transcends the boundaries of individual academic subjects and often aligns with the students’ personal interests. Its primary objective is to encourage students to independently acquire knowledge while solving meaningful and relevant problems.

Through project-based learning, students develop a wide range of competencies, including critical thinking, practical application of knowledge, information literacy, self-assessment, research methodology, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Additionally, they learn how to effectively present their work and ideas.

At the “Little Prince” Educational Complex, project-based learning is integrated into the curriculum from grades 2 to 11, with collaborative projects carried out across various disciplines. Notably, the 11th grade is designated as a full year dedicated to project-based learning. Below are examples of projects implemented by 11th-grade students in recent years.
